About The Wine Poste - Meet Our Wine Experts

The Wine Poste

The Wine Poste is a new twist on retail and online wine sales in Texas. We are located in a recently redeveloped 4500sqft warehouse in the heart of the burgeoning Design District of Dallas, TX. Our venue was designed with comfort in mind. We have three distinct wine tasting and event entertaining areas for our patrons, the Lounge, the Library, and our private Banquet Room. These three rooms can be rented individually or all at once giving our potential clients the opportunity to use the space exactly to their needs – wine tasting, winemaker dinners, catered events, etc.

While our core business is sourcing and selling the most delicious wines through our website and our onsite wine program, we are more than equipped to handle both public and private wine tastings, elegant wine dinners, corporate meetings and mixers, convention visitors, birthday parties, wedding showers, bridal showers, baby showers, or just a night out with a friend enjoying a bottle of wine.

Please browse our website to learn more about our wine program, wine clubs, wine events, and premier event rentals and wine tastings.

Meet Our Wine Experts

James Jordan - General Manager

James Jordan - General Manager

James Jordan, most recently of The Dallas Wine Company, is no stranger to the Dallas wine scene.  James has over thirty years of hands on experience in the Dallas & Ft Worth wine industry.  He started his career in 1988 with Red Coleman’s as a Senior Wine Buyer and his work was quickly recognized by Wine & Spirits Magazine in a 1998 feature article as the best wine store in Dallas.  Wanting to take the experience a bit further, he started his own company in 1993, WineSense, in order to do specialty wine tastings, dinners and winemaker events.

After leaving Red Coleman’s in 2002, James took on the role as Managing Partner of The Wine Market and More off of Blackburn and Oak Lawn in Dallas.  There James oversaw the day to day operations of the wine store and wine bar including purchasing, inventory control, personnel management and coordinating wine tastings and special events.  At the same time James was chosen to judge The Dallas Morning News International Wine Competition 10 out of 13 years.

James, always the independent entrepreneur, started The Dallas Wine Company in 2010 and continued holding wine tastings, wine maker dinners, and selling wine in cooperation with The Wine Therapist in the Lakewood area of Dallas.

James has a loyal following due to his excellent pallet, his deep connections to wine makers, and his ability to identify beautiful wines at value price points.  He is a leader in the Dallas wine industry and is a true asset at the Wine Poste & www.WinePoste.com

Matthew Thompson - Marketing & Communications

Matthew Thompson – Marketing & Communications

Matthew has spent the past 15 years in the US Healthcare Market.  Most recently he has played an active part working through his healthcare marketing company, CRx Health / www.CRxHealth.com, where he has spent the past three years creating and developing extensive healthcare marketing plans and business development opportunities for many independently owned clinics both locally and nationally.

Always looking to the future and seeking to further develop his skillset and wine knowledge, Matthew enrolled in the Sommelier Certification program of the International Sommelier Guild in the Spring of 2011.  He quickly then started a wine blog, Dallas Wine Cult / www.DallasWineCult.com, dedicated to cult wines in and around Dallas, TX.  Matthew wanted to share his wisdom and to sharpen his skills as a writer and wine promoter.

In the spring of 2012, Matthew completed his Sommelier Certification through the International Sommelier Guild Sommelier Diploma Courses and has joined forces with the Wine Poste / www.WinePoste.com to handle all Marketing & Communications efforts both online and throughout the Texas, Dallas, & Ft Worth wine markets.  Matthew has had a love affair with wine for over 10 years and understands the culinary adventure that a delicious wine pairing can arouse.  In addition to the communications side of the business, Matthew will be working hand-in-hand on events, wine tastings, wine dinners, and promotional gatherings.
